Why take a Knee

Thoughts on athletes taking a knee? People act like football players and other athletes don't have opinions on what happens around the world. People think that because they are athletes they should and only care about the sport they play. Athletes like Colin Kaepernick, have a strong fan base that help and can were willing contribute. This is a great way to engage many and many to support his side. But He also had people who were against his thought. We need people like him to stand up, it gives everyone else the feeling of more power. it takes a lot of courage for an athlete to stand up for something like this because of all the hate they will receive during and after. These football can and should keep protesting how ever they want no matter the negatives. Without them having to worry about all the dangers.

  1. I agree with what you are saying and i think that what athletes around the US are doing is right especially when you take advantage of a situation you have to show the crowd what is wrong and the moment to show that you want change.

  2. I totally agree with you! These athletes have a platform and a following, and they should be allowed to support issues that they think need attention. While the argument of people died fighting for this country, and we should honor our flag is true, didn't those same people fight for the right take a knee? I agree that it takes a lot of courage to stand up for what you believe in.

  4. Yes i agree with what your are saying. I feel that athletes have a power to make a difference in society because of all the people that look up to them. If they feel that something is wrong in society they have the right to do this.

  5. yee, no one looks at a athlete as just an athlete, a lot of people look at athletes as if they were heroes. Some thing great, athletes know that. Kaepernick is using his power, for a good purpose. People just look at it as disrespect when he was taking a knee, while people were paying their respects to the flag, because saluting is a sign of respect to those that have fought for the country. But It is okay for athletes to show their own opinions and thoughts. It does not seem like Kaepernick wants any trouble he just wants change. whats so bad about that. There would be no problems if people just stopped the brutality, racism, and all the other problems, that are causing athletes and other people to take a knee.

  6. I completely agree with what you are saying – athletes have a right to their beliefs and should have the ability to voice their own opinions. They should continue to protest in positive manners without having to receive such negative backlash.
