Coca-Cola Recycling 120 Billion Bottles
According to CNN, Coca-Cola CEO James Quincy is taking a huge step in trying to help the planet become greener, by having all of his already recyclable bottles sent back to the company. He wants to collect all these bottles and help save the environment trying to reach his goal of " a world without waste". 120 billion bottles a year is the equivalent of everybody in the world to give back 2 bottles every month. His goal is to get a bottle back for every bottle sold until the year 2030. Quincy wants to avoid these bottles being "single use bottles" and wants to use them for many other things. When they collected back, the plastic bottles will be melted down and reused for other bottles, car bumpers, and many other things that reusable plastics can be used for. I chose this article because I thought this would be a cool article to read about the positive things happening in out society rather than focusing on all the harsh and negative current occurrences.

This is a really cool and uplifting post, I think its cool how the CEO of a company that is already clasified as being green is looking to make a bigger global difference and really shows that hes a person who cares about the world rather then one that just does it for the publicity.
ReplyDeleteI think this is great that a major corporation is actually taking steps to do something positive. Nobody is forcing them to do it, but they are doing to make positive change anyways.
