The Blame Game
After watching several minutes of the Nazis Warning Video in Global as well as taking part in the nightly reading I have found a reoccurring issue. The Blame Game. The Nazi Warning Video, episode 1, begins on November 11, 1918. The date in which the war suddenly stopped. In this case the Germans lost the battle. But in their eyes they were not losers, instead they thought that they were betrayed. By whom you may ask? The politicians. Germans were great at learning how to continuously blame others for their wrong doings. In this case the politicians thought that they did no wrong in the fact that Germany lost the war and then went on blaming the communist, the Jews. This constant blaming is were the hatred for Jews began. They linked things that they hated and made it a issue. Due to these blaming cycles many traumatic events later occurred. But if this blaming never were to happen do you think the Holocaust or Hitlers rise to fame would have ever happened?

I think one reason that contributed to why people were blaming others so much was because their government had lied to them. They had told the people repeatedly that they were winning the war. Then to find out they had lost, after years of saying they had been winning, was a shock and they thought something must have switched drastically. The next logical explanation would be that someone high up with lots of power had turned on them and caused this sudden change. It didn't occur to them that they had been losing all along.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your statement because having lied to the people of Germany were under the impression that they were doing great and beating the enemy. So it´s not hard to see why the people of Germany felt that they were betrayed and blamed a group of people who had nothing to do with the large scale conspiracy that was made about them.
DeleteI think that hitler's rise to power was reliant on so many things and had so many factors that if any of these turning points didn't go his way he wouldn't of been in power, he should of been killed or in jail before any sort of movement even happened.
