Comparing Scenarios
I think that comparing The Bad Samaritan to a fight between two high school students is very difficult. Yes, it depends on the sizes and age and gender but they're still not very comparable because of the size of the crime/action. When it's two high school students fighting each other, they both have a pretty fair chance of winning. However, when it's an elementary school student fighting a recently high school graduate, and the elementary student is fighting for their life, that's unfair. I just don't see how you could even compare those two. Yes, you could argue that not all high school students are the same size, weights, and gender. However, it's very unlikely for one of them to end up dead. This is why I feel like comparing this two scenarios is very difficult, since they are completely different situations.

I agree. Of course the kid that is smaller has a disadvantage. However, an elementary school kid is helpless because they aren't as developed and haven't hit puberty. They may not have the though process yet to think out the situation. Kids the same age both know what they are getting into.
ReplyDeleteI think you both missed the point. The point of the discuss was whether or not YOU would intervene in a fight between two students.
