Self-Serving Bias

Self-Serving Bias is a topic that we discussed recently in class in the Lucifer Effect worksheet. A self-serving bias is people's tendency to attribute positive events to their own character but attributes negative events to external factors. This is a very popular study in psychology. Self-serving biases are generally used to put the blame on others. This is very similar attribute to the Jim Crow times. During this time White's would try to put out any businesses that were successful and run by people of color. Due to the main fact that it impacted their success.
