Undocumented Immigrants

I still have a hard time thinking and watching videos of people being absolutely racist and saying lots of slurs to Latino's and telling them to go back to their country because they are taking the jobs that half of American's will never want to do. Immigrants come from everywhere to seek a better life and to escape possible wars from their country or the violence and trying to raise their kids in a hostile place. I personally know many people who came to the US from Mexico, Germany, India, and other places to look for a job and try to build a better place maybe settle down and get married. Personally I have a mom that went through a lot in the US and raising one kid on her own was really hard, went from moving house to apartment back to a house only to end up in an apartment once again because it was hard to keep track of one kid and where he can go to get his education. There are tons of challenges that most American's will never live by and probably can't walk in the same shoes as someone who isn't the same skin tone as theirs. I'm not saying that every American is rich and has a good life I am saying to those who just get things handed to them and don't take advantage of so many opportunities because they expect that money will solve every problem although I might be wrong. Everyone is human and we should get along with everyone no matter where that person comes from or what their background looks like it should be getting to know them. The fact that Trump had the goal of deporting 11 Million immigrants is just stupid and if you think about it there are lots of those undocumented that have not gotten in trouble with the law and won't even jaywalk because they are afraid of the deportation and them having to leave their family in the US. Should we really deport those who are here in the US to have a better life? Should we deport all of those immigrants who work in the fields everyday and work at meat stores who try to make a living?

  1. I don't think we should deport those who are here actually working and paying there taxes and having a good life. There are many people here that probably moved here to get a better life and work hard for money. Most of these immigrants that are here working are doing successful jobs and living successful, so why would we take that away from them?

  2. I think you make an important point. The fact that the Trump Administration has increased deportation arrests by 40% compared to the previous administration is very alarming. Because within the rising amount of arrests, more non-criminals are being arrested. The American government still views these people as criminals however since when they entered the country they broke a law. But in reality the majority of undocumented immigrants come here to be productive, get jobs, work extra-hard to attain an education and pay their taxes. Furthermore via the economic standpoint, it is illogical to allocate millions of dollars to arrest and deport people who have never broken a law while they have resided here, as you mentioned, since they are pumping money into the economy. Its most heartbreaking to see families split apart, families who are full productive members of society and who have set up their whole lives here and raised their kids in the US.

  3. I agree with leyani because its true if they haven't done anything wrong then there is no reason to deport them.
