Youtube Arrests
This week a 2nd arrest took place directly from a youtube video. This time it was a man who gave a pack of Oreos filled with toothpaste to a homeless man. The youtuber filmed the man eating the oreos and posted the video to youtube. The homeless man then would give a statement saying that he threw up due to eating too much toothpaste and sued the man. The homeless man won and got 40k dollars and the youtuber was sentenced to time in prison. This is a good crack down on people who used to post the same videos but instead of getting arrested they would just get striked or have their videos taken down.

Good to see these people trying to get views and popularity on Youtube, getting shutdown and facing consequences for making others suffer. I wonder what that homeless man is going to do with all that money.
ReplyDeleteI think there are pranksters in the YouTube community that sometimes go to far and I guess that's what the YouTuber got was well deserved not only did he harm a helpless man but he posted this for lots of his viewers. I know that that's what you tubers do for a living but to a homeless man is even worse because what happen if he needed medical attention were was he going to get it.
ReplyDeleteIt's reassuring that YouTube is starting to crack down and be more responsible about the users on their platform. I think ever since the Logan Paul suicide forest filming incident, everything has become more sensitive and youtubers are on thin ice with what they post nowadays.
ReplyDeleteMany of these youtube pranks are mostly made to friends, doing this prank to a homeless man is just cruel. this is a prank gone too far, good that the homeless man sued.
ReplyDeleteI dont like the idea of this Youtube prank at all. I agree that the prank went too far once they chose to do it on the homeless.
