In the OJ case where OJ Simpson was accused of committing a double murder killing his ex-wife and a fellow friend of hers, I believe, based on the evidence presented, that the justice system did, in fact, properly go through with the correct decision as it wasn't the jury's fault that found OJ Simpson innocent but the way that the prosecution displayed the case, their fault that the jury was not influenced to make their decision. The defensive play in all of the case was really smart and well done as they went through all the evidence and found the flaws in each and every single one. Justice was found here as the jurors in the court did, in fact, give the correct verdict with the evidence given. If the prosecution were to have given a better presentation, for example, explaining the DNA evidence and giving a more reliable understanding of why this is credible then OJ would have been found guilty. As this concept of DNA was still new the jury didn't truly understand its value it was the procession job to help do this and with the failure of this, caused the jury to totally dismiss this evidence and focus on something else. Also if the prosecution would have done more background check on officer Fuhrman and told him to tell the truth and not lie then he credibility would have been rethought. Also, the biggest evidence that should in this case not have been showed was the glove. It should have been never tried on because many as said in the jury would have already assumed that it fit OJ just by the look of it. The defense here manipulated the projection into thinking that they would bring up the glove when there were many things OJ could have been to make the glove not fit. For example not taking his Arthritis Medicine, making his hands swollen. Also, the gloves would of shrank because of the massive amount of blood on them. OJś lawyers also had a way with people which made the jury be quite influenced and impacted. The fact that OJ was an actor was a great contributor as he could act his way out of that situation easily and overexaggerate the snug fit of the gloves. The saying he had about the glove gave him major leverage and gave him the jury's attention and eyes. As for the protection, their presentation/ ending statement was given normally and did not leave an impact on the jury which was also majorly taken into account with the verdict. A major factor that could have also changed this was the fact of not including the suicide note, the police phone call, and the car chase where they found money and fake passport which showed clear signs of guilt of what had been done and trying to flee/ escape from taking responsibility of the actions. As for in the civil case, the justice system was also functioning property as this case had a new set of lawyers who really gave all the evidence in such a good way. But a major thing that did not help OJ was the interview he shared with the media and the book he had written with a newspaper that was canceled but taken by the Goldman's family. That really influenced that case and the way the procession asked the questions to OJ. In this case, OJ could no longer plead to the fifth amendment and his testimony really stuck out to the court as a massive lie as it was inconsistent with the timing of the night of the murder and he had a true motive and time to commit this crime with no alibi to save him. He changed his story many times which was seen by the court.
