Sexual Harassment in Hollywood

In October 2017, Harvey Weinstein had multiple claims of sexual misconduct on a bunch of actors in Hollywood. At first, Weinstein had denied these claims but slowly the actors came out against him, and they called him out for sexually harassing them. This showed that Weinstein had been trying to hide these stories from the public and now they have all come out and his career is basically over. This started the Weinstein effect. The Weinstein effect is basically after Weinstein was called out for sexual harassment, more people started calling out other actors, producers, and entertainers on sexual harassment claims. Actors like Kevin Spacey and Louis C.K. have been called out for this, and now their careers are ruined. Since October, there has been a bunch of actors being called out for these claims every day, actors that you know and love are being exposed to their pasts and it's finally catching up to them. Who knows who will fall to the Weinstein effect, but the more we know the better it is. Hollywood seems to be a scary place with all of these sexual harassment problems, but the fact that it is coming all out is a good thing since people are finally talking about it and not trying to hide it.Harvey Weinstein attends the 'Lion' premiere and opening ceremony of the 12th Zurich Film Festival at Kino Corso on Sept. 22, 2016 in Zurich.

  1. Well Tommy, I definitely agree with you 100%, but I must bring this up; do you think that famous actors that are high ranked in society have more leeway because they're super famous?

  2. It is definately good that people are coming out accusing them of what crimes they have committed. But at the same time, we must be sure to follow all legal steps, and convict them beyond a reasonable doubt for each and every charge. Sometimes, I feel like the jury is too quick to believe the victim. It is always good encourage the victims to come out, but its very important to constantly remind the jury, that no mater the charge, it is always imperative for them to only go guilty if there is beyond a reasonable doubt.

  3. It's very good that these people are coming out and letting the media know whats going on. Remember though that there should be evidence to prove that they actually did it because people can lie and not like the actors/producers. Yes i agree with what Jason is saying that there should be reasonable doubt to prove that they are guilty.
