Jameis Winston FSU rape investigation

Yesterday in global we watched a film on a FSU football player, Jameis Winston that sexual harassed Erica Kinsman in 2012 while they were both students at FSU. The cops got involved but they didn't press charges against him since he was going on and becoming successful while playing football. Winston was the first pick in the 2015 NFL draft and due to that, they didn't believe that he would have raped Erica. People around were saying that Erica was a liar even if they didn't even hear about the story. But the fact that they heard that Winston was being accused, they were picking his side of the story because he was becoming an NFL football player.

In my opinion on this entire situation, as listening kind of to both sides on the story, they should have talked to the roommate because they could have seen that either Erica or Jameis was lying. The roommate could have said that no I wasn't even in the room when Erica was in there or he could say, yah I was there and was telling him to stop. I think that the reason that the roommate didn't come out was because he could have called the cops when she got pulled into a locked bathroom. Instead, it doesn't seem that the roommate did anything and just let Jameis Winston do what ever he wanted to do.

Just in the film that we had watched, which side the story would you pick from? Would you say that Ms. Kinsman is correct and that just because Winston was becoming a NFL celebrity we shouldn't say anything? or do you think that Ms. Kinsman is lying because she wanted to ruin Winston's football career because she wasn't as successful as he was?
