The photos of Kurt Cobian's body after his suicide will remain sealed from the public following the upheld judgment form a Washington court in 2015 keeping them from being released to the public. A photo had surfaced on a gore website that claims to be Kurt Cobain after his suicide was confirmed as fake by the authorities. The court ruling comes in favor form Kurt's widow Courtney Love, and his daughter Frances Cobain. The ruling was to " Permanently enjoining the city from disclosing, disseminating, releasing or distributing any death scene photos not previously disclosed." In 2014 Richard Lee a journalist who reported on the death of Cobain sued the city of Seattle to try and get the photos released. The Photos show Kurt Cobain's body as it laid in his after he was shot in the head. Lee has spent 23 years investigating the case and believes Kurt was killed in a conspiracy involving multiple government officials. He lost the suit in 2015 but he filled an appeal earlier this year. Courtney Love and her daughter testified in court saying that Kurt's death was " the most traumatic experience in my life. It left me psychically distraught I still suffer emotionally from the loss of my husband to this day". Frances testimony stated, " although I have no memory of my father I have to deal with the trauma of his death my entire life". In April of this year, Love filed a suit against Lee for "trying to exploit Cobain's death and she accused Lee of harassment " Lee also filmed himself chasing a limo that he thought Love was a passenger in.
