Would you want to know?

There are many tests now that can see if you have the gene of Alzheimer's through neurological and physical tests. As someone who has had a family member who has severe Alzheimer, i don't know if i would want to know if i had the gene considering there is no cure found yet.  If the test were to come out as negative you would have a huge weight off your shoulders but what if it isn't? Living with Alzheimer's is one thing, but living knowing you might / will get it one day is another. I read many articles on people who got the gene and have a chance of getting it and how they dealt with their results but my question is would you get the test knowing this is a incurable disease especially if you have relatives that have the disease?

  1. It is truly scary to think if you have it but I think that if you have the time to take the test you should because it is good to know and be cautious. Maybe you can live a lifestyle that prevents it. Im not sure, u did the research, but I still think its better to know what you're working with.

  2. Honestly I would want to know, because it would help me live life a whole completely different way, I`ll probably enjoy life a little more, if i was o take the test and it came out positive .

  3. I would probably take the test just so I could know. It's obviously a really scare thing to deal with and it would definitely be a huge burden to carry, but I think that knowing would help me go about my life in a different manner.
