Sexual Assault in Colleges
In class we watched a documentary about sexual assault, focusing in on the criminal act occurring in college students. It is unbelievable that 8% of college students commit 90% of sexual assaults. That number may seem small, but these criminals commit those crimes over and over again without facing the consequences that they deserve. Sexual assaults and rape victims are faced with trauma throughout their lifetimes and it is hard to get over such a scary experience. Schools pretend to care about their students and what goes on in their life, but in reality victims don't usually get the justice that they deserve. What do you think should be done to the students in college who commit these crimes?

That statistics shocked me. 90% of sexual assaults is shocking. You go to college expecting it to be a safe place. The florida state case we watched was sad. This girl who had been raped was put to shame for is as it had been her fault. And the rapist, the football player, was glorified. He wasn't expelled! That's what shocked me. Just because he was a football player! Colleges seemed to only want to protect themselves and not the safety of the kids.
