TJs Senior Project
I found it really interesting how our school is getting rid of auto-shop and how the nation is slowly taking these hands-on trade classes out of schools. It's interesting how TJ set up his documentary since he proposed the problem, these classes getting canceled, as well as the obvious reason why these classes are essential which is these trade jobs are always going to be around and with these high school courses you could go straight into the trade right after high school. I also believe that the tech shift with more people going into tech jobs and less going into trades should be a sign for high school to keep these classes and actually encourage it even though the enrollment is low because if we don't the trade jobs will become a pretty dominant business and will cost more and more money with the fewer people who are seeking to do them.
shooting of Oscar Grant

On January 1st, 2009 at around 2 am, BART officers responded to reports of a fight that broke out on an Oakland subway car. They detained approximately 20 passengers, one of which was a 22 year old man names Oscar Grant. Witnesses say Grant was not actually involved in the fight – they recall that he approached police in what appeared to be a nonviolent manner and was backed up against the wall. Grant can be seen kneeling and pleading with police for unclear reasons in a widely disseminated cell phone video of the scene. Many eyewitnesses say he was already begging the police not to shoot him at this time. Officers restrained Grant and pinned him face down on the pavement. As shown in the video, Grant was restrained by two officers while a third, police officer Johannes Mehserle, then pulled out his revolver and shot Grant in the back, killing him. Officer Mehserle quietly resigned from BART and has issued no statements regarding his side of the story. An internal investigation is pending – Grant's family attorney has filed a $25 million wrongful death lawsuit against the city. Thirteen days after the shooting, on January 14th, 2009, Mehserle was arrested and charged with suspicion of murder.
If Slavery Was a Choice
While on a TMZ live show, Kanye West made the bold claim that "slavery was a choice". I feel that this could be incredibly insulting to all of the people who have had family members or ancestors who were slaves. It trivializes a problem that is near and dear to many people's hearts. Kanye was confronted by a TMZ staffer there and offered a great rebuttal to Kanye's controversial claims. Stormy Daniels sues Trump
Stormy Daniels claims that she had a sexual encounter with Donald Trump in 2006. After 5 years, she was warned by a unidentified man to not say a word about this incident. This man also claimed that something bad could happen to her if she did not keep her mouth shut. Later this month, she met with a forensic artist to try to create a sketch of the man. Someone tweeted about this sketch and Trump replied to it. He states, "A sketch years later about a nonexistent man,"... "A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!". Ms. Daniels and her attorney got mad at Trump's tweet because they claimed that he was making a false statement and he was trying to deceive people considering that he has a lot of people who see his tweets. She then took a polygraph test in 2011 and the examiner concluded that she was telling the truth when she said that she had a sexual encounter with Donald Trump in 2006.
Alzheimer's Disease
What would it feel like if you were in your 40's or 50's and one day you wake up and realize that you constantly can't remember where you left your keys or your phone? Or how would it feel like if you can't even remember your own name or who your family is? How long do you think you will be able to survive with the disease you have? Alzheimer's... lots of people think that they know what it is as in they will say on yeah it makes you lose your memory well so can dementia but they aren't the same thing. Alzheimer's slowly will start to erase lots of memory from you brain and it will destroy more and more things as the stages get worse and worse. This disease is genetic and can spread around in the family especially if someone from your family had the disease it is more possible that you may inherit the gene. You can get your blood drawn and tested to see if you do got the deadly disease. People who are diagnosed with the disease tend to have a lifespan of up to 6-8 years but some tend to live longer than 15-20 years.
Meek Mill
5 months ago, the Philadephia rapper, Meek Mill violated his probation on a gun and drug case by being involved in a fight and popping wheelies on a dirt bike. A lot of current celebrities and a lot of people on social media felt that Meek Mill was being treated unfairly, and they started the #FreeMeekMill hashtag. On April 25, 2018, Meek Mill was released from prison.
Kanye West's Tweets
Recently Kanye West has awoken from his deep slumber on Twitter. Every single day Kanye has been sending multiple tweets. From his tweets, he has been releasing information about his albums and other artist's albums, but his most controversial tweet was on April 25, 2018. Kanye tweeted out about how he supports Donald Trump and how he has MAGA hat as well. When Kanye tweeted this, all of Twitter exploded with people tweeting at Kanye in support of him or ridiculing him for his support of Donald Trump. Before he tweeted this out Kanye sent a tweet where he talked about free speech, but as soon as he talked supporting Trump people went up against him. Do you think it was fair to hate Kanye on what he said?
