Madam C.J. Walker

On December 23, 1867, Sarah Breedlove was born near Delta, Louisiana. Breedlove gave herself the title of  Madam C.J. Walker in 1905 when we invented a line of African-American hair care products  after suffering from a scalp ailment that resulted in her own hair loss. She promoted her products by traveling around the country and giving lecture-demonstrations. Madam C.J. Walker eventually established Madame C.J. Walker Laboratories in order to manufacture her line of cosmetics and train hired sales beauticians. Her smart business plan led her to become the only American women to become a self-made millionaire.

  1. That is really cool to read about, I've never heard of her before but it seems like she worked hard and deserved her success.
