"Slavery being a choice"

It all started with an Instagram post from Kanye West... He posted a picture of himself wearing a red Trump supporting hat with the word "Make America Great Again" across the front. Noting that the image of a black man supporting Trump has a social punch on them and their image when the public sees this. Let alone a successful rapper with a voice and platform to be heard.

Then came an interview with Kanye West and TMZ a celebrity website. During their conversation, Kanye was trying to explain the post saying it was because he was "drugged out". Jumping around with topics he then comes to say "when you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years, that sounds like a choice. *laughs*". Then continues to proceed with a jumpy conversation. To be interpreted by another African American man in the room. A worker who used to look up to Kanye West, but is now disappointed in him and his actions. Telling him phrases like "I'm disappointed, appalled and brother I'm unbelievably hurt by the fact that you have modified into something, to me that's not real. That's the way I feel."

Now social media is going crazy over this trying to get others reactions on the main comment from Kanye West about slavery being a choice. What do you all think? Feel free to look up the video on YouTube or TMZ.com.

  1. I feel like Kanye West is trying to be controversial so that he can get more people to pay attention to him and promote his album, but this shouldn't excuse him from saying such atrocious things.

  2. I agree with Tommy. A lot of the things celebrities say are just to get attention and if they truly feel like that something is wrong with them, but its not going to make their fame go away.
