Denial of the Armenian Genocide
During WW1, the Ottoman Empire killed over 1.5 million Armedians while this is clearly planned and conducted against a specific group of people. The governments of Turkey and Azerbaijan still fail to claim this event as a genocide or going as far as saying it never happening. Though they are in denial many refer to these killings were also known to be called the first modern genocide. This was also described as a success of the planned out and organized systematically way to eliminate the Armenians and cover the truth as many do not hear about this event as much as the Holocaust. Though there is some evidence of the genocide such as pictures, survivors and many anti-Turkish government propaganda was largely spread. And there was a major conspiracy that spread throughout the empire about the Armenians helping the enemy. Instead of seeing this and taking responsiblity the Turkish claim that these series of event either did not occur or that it was somehow justified at the time.
While countries like France, Switzerland, Greece, Cyprus, and Slovakia officially outlawed the Denial of the Armenian Genocide, the US fails to do this as they have deliberately avoided officially recognizing it as a genocide to avoid harming relations with Turkey. Though this is a matter of the nations interest we still have to duty to think about the wolrd as a whole and bring justice not just hide behind everything and stay silent in the corner.
