Joe McKnight
Joe McKnight was a very successful football player with the USC Trojans and the New York Jets. Back in December of 2016, after another man by the name of Ronald Gasser got in a road rage incident with McKnight, Gasser shot and killed the 28 year old. In this incident, Gasser pulled out a gun on an unarmed McKnight, and shot him dead in a matter of seconds. Based on this report, Gasser was simply charged with manslaughter and 30 years in prison. In my opinion, this is a case of second-degree murder because once he took out his gun, he knew that he had to opportunity to kill and he intended to do so. Gasser tried to claim it as self-defense, but I believe using a gun against an unarmed man is a cowardly way to defend yourself. Even though we don't talk about court cases in this class anymore, what do you guys think this was? Manslaughter or Second degree murder?

Due to the fact that it was a road rage incident and there was no prior intent to kill, but possibly just being pissed off. But due to the fact that the road rage on Gasser's part from what I understand it would be second degree murder. Due to McKnight not having any aggression towards Gasser.
