Truth Behind Bribes
Bribery is happening all over the world and it takes on many different shapes and forms. Bribery is defined by dictionary as persuade (someone) to act in one's favor, typically illegally or dishonestly, by a gift of money or other inducement. Bribery is not legal in the United States but happens currently with government officials and cooperations. The biggest case of bribery was by the company Kelloggs Brown and Root also know as KBR inc. and high ranking Nigerian officials. In 2009 KBR was charged by the Department of Justice, when KBR was charged the CEO Albert Jack Stanley pleaded guilty to the crime in 2012. Overall he was fined 579 Million dollars and sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. This is just one example of big cooperations and high ranking officials to conspire in using bribes. All over the world brides occur, in 3rd world countries bribes are more influential than in a 1st world country. When people decide to bribe they loose honor that other people had for them. Bribing is a way of cheating the system, it shows you don'[t know how to achieve your goals without it. It is like paying a app to get your instagram account 1000k more likes, they weren't earned you took the easy way of paying to achieve your goal.
