School Shootings and the Effects

With all the school shooting that are now happening in Americna is there safety in our educaton system. The most recent school shooting in Florida it brings up a lot of concern in school safety. Now laws are being passed for teachers to carry weapons, are you crazy. There is no way teachers should be given a gun becasue that is not what they signed up for. Teachers signed up to teach students and to educate the next gerneration of people. Teachers did not sign up to shoot pistols and fear for their life while wondering if they got time to grade homeworlk later, and still be getting paid 40,000 a year. Thats ridicoulous we need to start banning guns in America. You never hear about this in England or Austrailia. Mass shooiting are only in America for the sole reason that guns are legal and people who are crazy get a hold of them. This then results in hundred of families broken hearted for the rest of their lives because their son or daughter never reached the age of 17. I dont know how its gonna happen but we need an end to all of these school shootings, becasue why wake up every moring at 7 to go to a place Im not even guarateed my safety.

  1. No matter how strongly you feel about this you can't take a country built with the "right to bear arms" and expect to completely ban all guns. Also where you say "Mass shootings are only in America for the sole reason that guns are legal" thats not really the sole reason and some might argue not even the biggest reason. Gun control has become more strict in recent years limiting size, type, and capacity of guns and ammunition and that hasn't made much of a difference. Personally I believe the first thing we need to do is extensive background checks, longer waiting period to get them after purchase, and maybe restrictions like you can't store ammunition at home you have to store it at a range or some regulated facility so you cant just decide to load your guns and go shoot whoever or whatever you want. There will always be a weapon to blame but start blaming the people that do these things or the parents that allow their mentally ill or mentally disturbed children access to guns. If we were to stop selling all kinds of guns and recall the millions that citizens own, most likely only the law abiding citizens would turn in their guns. These people that are shooting up schools and concerts won't be the ones to turn in their guns.

  2. I agree with Jacob, I feel that we shouldn't be banning guns but I think that what is happening is that even having stricter guns laws people that are wanting to shoot up a school or concerts are going to find a way to get a gun no matter if the age limit is 18 years old or if it if 50 years old. People will always try and find a way to go around the laws and break them.
