the hutus would phrase, "cut the tall tress now!" that started everything with killing the tutsis. The tutsis were liked by the belgians because they were taller and had longer necks, they looked like regular People. The hutus werent having it and UN soldiers would stand there and watch because they were just peacemakers. The hutus wanted to eliminate the whole population. Most children were targeted because they were going to be the new generation of tutsis, most women were being raped and used in sex slavery. tutsi rebels managed to stop the genoed, the UN dd nothing to stop the genocide. close to 1M tustis were killed.

I agree except the UN did try to send supplies and transport refugees out. However, it was Britain and the US that didn't aid the tutis very much and let the genocide continue.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the UN initially went in with the intention to provide aid and support, they ultimately served as complete bystanders throughout the entire genocide and did close to nothing to help the tutsis.
