Walkouts; Do They Work?

Tomorrow (March 14) there will be a national walkout at 10 am. High school students around the nation will be walking out of there classrooms in solidarity with Stoneman Douglas. The hashtag never again has been thrown around to say that never again will we have a school shooting. My question is, do these protests work? Do they accomplish anything? I think they do. First of all, it shows older generations (that can vote) about what younger generations want and how far they are willing to go. Also, for the younger generation, it can help strengthen their belief in what they are protesting. To see that many others feel the same way can make them feel good and build stronger beliefs about the subject. In this way, when they are old enough to vote, they will feel more motivated to make a decision. Are you planning on walking out tomorrow/ did you walk out? What were your reasons for doing it or not doing it?

  1. I do not believe that the walkouts protest work. They do help the community express what they think and how the feel. I dont believe that a walkout will change a School shooters mindset. I did not walkout because i dont believe that going out will change anything. Not even changing the law on guns because guns can be purchase anywhere.
