Angela Lansbury – sexual harassment in Hollywood

On Tuesday, November 28, Angela Lansbury, the 92-year-old Murder, She Wrote actress, stated in an interview that, "We must sometimes take blame, women. I really do think that." As recently reported, many notable Hollywood figures such as Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Piven, and Louis C.K. have all been accused of sexual harassment. Although she did not place a strong emphasis on specifically blaming the victims of sexual harassment, Lansbury sparked serious backlash from her disappointed fans as she continued to add fuel to the fire – "We have to own up to the fact that women, since time immemorial, have gone out of their way to make themselves attractive. And unfortunately it has backfired on us – and this is where we are today.” The actress had managed 92 years of her life without being controversial, and then ultimately threw herself under the bus by deciding to victim blame. On the other hand, some of Lansbury's fans stood their ground and supported her by saying that these opinions have to do with the era she was raised in. But should her age really be used as a free pass?

  1. What she said is just her being ignorant. Maybe what she said was based on how her time would have reacted to this situation but its 2017 and everything is different to her time. She has to be more considerate in what she says because these victims are putting themselves out there and for someone to criticize them really disheartens the victims to come out.
