History of Christmas

There are multiple areas that celebrated something during christmas times. For example, the norse in skandinavia celebrate yule, which is eating and partying untill a giant log brought home burns fully. Late december was the best time for partying because all cows were slaughtered so they wouldn't need to be fed during the winter and all alcohols are finished fermenting by then. Later the roman empire celebrated a holiday on the 25th of december, so their Pope, Pope Julius I declared that Jesus Christ was born on december 25th. How do you celebrate christmas, if you do?
