Well in 2008 the virtual currency Bitcoin was created. The creator was a hacker by the name Satoshi Nakimoto. He remained anonymous until the year 2014, when they found a address to the name in California Santa Barbra. This man was not the real hacker behind Bitcoin. To a coincidence one of the most popular cyber hackers had lived 2 block away from that man. Some of the media believes mister Satoshi was a patsy from the real Nick Hallen. Bitcoin really was blossoming after the 2008 market crash, it pushed people to not trust banks and believe that there has to be another way. That's when people got into virtual currency. The worth sky rocketed from .00076 to 1.6 about near the peak of the Bitcoin rush. Bitcoin was a great invention that the government has ruined and made regulated, where its a system that cannot be regulated.
