Recently, games such as Call of Duty: WWII and Detroit: Become Human have come under fire for depicting disturbing scenes, such as Jews hanging from a tree or child abuse. People have been calling for these games to be pulled off of the shelves or for the scenes to be taken out of the games. What people fail to realize is that videogames are another form of art and should not be censored. With "COD" they are depicting history and with Detroit: Become Human they are trying to convey a message and should not be silenced.
(VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED)

I agree with what you are saying. Many video games such as COD and even slight parts of Assassin Creed represents history and displays events. These games even warn users of what can be seen in the games. Its up to parents to realize if it is okay for their own children to play but it is definitely not the video games producers fault
ReplyDeleteI agree that video games are another form of art and that they should have the right to express any messages they wish to convey to their audience.

ReplyDeleteThere's a game on Steam called "Hatred" developed by Destructive Creations which has you kill as many people as possible. Of course this garnered negative attention from the media, and I feel like that's what the video game company was going for. The game itself, however, wasn't really good, it had no story and purpose. I'm in for controversial games but the game has to be good.
